Portraits by Hikaru

This memorial portrait painting was commissioned by the dear friend of Hikaru. Celeste was still very young when she crossed the threshold via accident. Hikaru had "asked" the spirit of Celeste how she would like to be remembered. This painting is done in acrylic on canvas.

This memorial pet portrait was commissioned by Keiko Yamamori-san. These are both females, and Hikaru was inspired and envisioned them in the beautiful peaceful Japanese garden. It is done with acrylic on canvas.

Orion was one of the beloved pets of Ms Noriko. She asked Hikaru to create the memorial pet portrait painting and requested him to include some of the symbolically significant images. Hikaru had selected the perfect images from the Greek Mythology and of Greece. Unfortunately, Ms. Noriko also crossed the threshold due to cancer. Done with acrylic on canvas.

William was a friend of Hikaru, and he was a wonderful photographer specialized in capturing the beauty of Japanese gardens. William crossed the threshold back in 2008 due to cancer. His photograph was given to the Emperor and the Empress of Japan when they visited Colorado as the official gift from the State of Colorado. This memorial portrait drawing was done with pencil on paper.

Hikaru is an open minded, non-judgmental artist who gladly accepts rather challenging commissions, and here is a good example. The clients' son took his own life, but the family wanted to remember him with the happy, memorable events from his life. This is a memorial mural painting done in acrylic.

This portrait painting was originally commissioned for Hikaru's client's son-in-law, yet professor Raetz had crossed the threshold, so this painting is in the memorial section. Done with mixed media on canvas.

This is based on Hikaru's beloved cat, Zither. You can see the youtube video in the Hikaru's Video section. Hikaru envisioned Zither as the character from the "Puss in the Boots." Zither passed peacefully in 2007. This memorial pet portrait painting was done with acrylic on canvas.

While appreciating the living is so natural and important, to remember the departed ones are equally important. The ancient Greeks have equated the concept of immortality with ones being remembered forever.
"How would you like to remember your loved ones?
...and what do you envision them doing right now?"
Hikaru, through his magical skills, would make your dear ones immortal! In Hikaru's paintings of the Memorial Portrait, your dear ones would happily live forever!
"I have lost my pet and many of my dear family members and my friends, so I know what it means to miss the dear ones. I often wonder how they are doing right now.
Are they here with me though I cannot see them? Are they free of grief, pain, and suffering? Are they exploring the unknown freely? Not even for a moment I think that they are gone and completely cease to exist. Sometimes I feel their messages and even their encouragement in the form of inspiration. " - Hikaru
